OUR TOP THINGS TO DO IN LONDON THIS AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY 2018

Written by: Diogo Pestana | Posted: 26 September 2018 | Modified: 08 November 2018

The last Bank-Holiday of the year is on its way, meaning summer is nearly over – very sad, we know. There has been a hand-full of thunderstorms, but the summer sun is still set to flourish into September. London is our home town, so we wanted to bring you a S&S Bank-Holiday agenda for you to enjoy.

Rooftop Film Club at Roof East, Stratford.

Friday 24th August 2018, start time: 8pm.

Head over to Stratford’s Rooftop East to watch an all-time classic, Notting Hill. Get your friends together for a few sunset (not guaranteed) cocktails and street food, enter the weekend on high note with views across London from the East. If you fancy getting down there early, try your luck at the rooftop games and bring out the competitive fire in you. Come 8pm, sink back into your lounge seat and munch away on bottomless popcorn for £17.50. A cinema trip isn’t the same without a pick n mix, so bring along a Mixed Selection of Alcoholic Cocktail Gummies and indulge away.

Fabulous Brunch, Darling! Drag brunch, 100 Wardour Street.

Saturday 25thAugust, time: 12pm-5pm.

Giving brunch that bank-holiday sparkle it needs, 100 Wardour Street will be full of everything Drag – the fabulous and the most outrageous. Get your glam rags on and be the Bar Queen, enjoy a 3-course brunch with endless amounts of entertainment throughout the event. The day will be an adventure of drag gameshows, dance troops and live DJs – what better way to spend your Saturday.

Memory Palace Art Exhibition, White Cubes Bermondsey

Saturday 25th August or Sunday 26th August 2018, start time: 10am.

We love to explore the culture of London and especially check out the latest art exhibitions around the city. Over here in the lovely place we call home, Bermondsey, there is an exhibition reflecting 6 forms and themes of memory: historical, autobiographical, traces, transcription, collective and sensory. White Cubes Bermondsey leads you to mentally place the objects along a path to retract your memory journey through an array of artistic and multi-sensorial objects.

Notting Hill Carnival, West London

Saturday 25th August – Monday 27th August 2018

The biggest weekend in London for culture, music, food and a banging party, with 2 million people attending every year – you cannot miss out. The streets of W10 and W11 hold a 3-day street party that is fun for all the family to celebrate the wonders of the Caribbean community. This is the weekend to dress as vibrant and OTT as you can, the steal band’s and Caribbean dancing will get you in the mood to go all weekend.

MakeMore Festival, Victoria Park

Saturday 25th August - Monday 27th August 2018

A five-day celebration of the wonders of what your hands can do… artistically. Smith & Sinclair’s pride and joy, the Alcoholic Cocktail Gummies, were formed by the magic hands of Emile, without his culinary background and exploration of his love of taste, we wouldn’t be the alcohol innovators we are today. So, fuel your creativeness and get involved in the different activities at this festival full of culture – live music, comedians and street food pop-ups.
